Terroir Selection Sweet Szamorodni, 2021

Szamorodni is a noble sweet Tokaj wine speciality made by harvesting whole bunches containing ripe, overripe and botrytised aszú berries. The luscious nose displays fresh honey, pear and delicious grapes, with oaky notes from barrel ageing and a hint of elegant botrytis in the background. Plenty of fruit on the palate with vanilla, citrus and a slight caramel creaminess. Despite its sweetness, the citrus f lavours, the inherent freshness, lightness, vibrancy and the playful acid-sugar-alcohol balance make for great drinkability. Easy to creative food pairing. Fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks, then aged for over a year in Zemplén oak barrels of various sizes in the exceptional t ranquillity of our 5.5 k m long Szegi Cellar.
